Description
Aurora HO Slot T-Jet '65 Mustang Fastback in Factory Painted Black over Yellow plastic. The is an Authentic factory painted car and not a repaint or a reproduction. For many, this may be as close to this truly RARE car as you can afford to get. Near Mint or better examples sell for $2,000++ . I have seen Complete junkers with massive paint wear and hacked wheel wells sell for well over $100. My car looks great on display but it does have some issues. Lets start with the body condition. Both screw posts are perfect, the top has no cracks or chips plus has never been off the car and the rear wheel wells are undamaged. The front bumper is unbroken and about a C5 and the rear bumper is missing. The front fender tip of each front wheel wells has been cut off on both sides. They did NOT cut off the lower spoiler under the front bumper. Obviously, this cutting served no purpose at all because they barely opened the size of the wheel well itself. In the process of cutting the fenders, with what looks to be an exacto blade, they did do some light shaving of the entire front WW on both sides of the car and left some jagged cuts on the face of the well itself. Those cuts don't effect the outside Factory Black body paint. The size of the wheel well is hardly changed because as the photos show the majority of the raised outer lip is still present. The amount of plastic that was taken off in each WW is more comparable with sanding than actual cutting. The previous owner did paint the cut area of the well on each front WW Black to match the rest of the body. In addition, he painted the uncut face of the rear WW's and the bottom face of the rocker panels. Because it was done by a kid, you can easily distinguish between the factory paint and the added paint. I assure you, the Factory Paint has not been retouched or painted over anywhere else on the body. In fact, it would probably be easy for the new owner to remove the kid applied paint without messing with the Factory Finish. Keep in mind, the face of the wheel well and the bottom of the rocker was NOT painted by the factory when they manufactured these cars anyway. At best, those areas had a bit of overspray there. So, if you strip the paint from those areas it will NOT look strange or incorrect. The Factory Black Paint on the body overall is C7.5 out of 10. There is some high edge wear but no big chips or ugly scratches. The White stripes are in great shape with very little wear on the front hood edge. The roof has Mint black paint and the White stripes show a small amount of wear to the front edge. I am happy to answer any questions or email additional pics if needed.
